This Privacy Policy explains how Microedits ("we", "us", "our") processes personal information when you use our websites and services.

Scope

This notice applies to:

  • The marketing site at microedits.com
  • Our hosted applications and related services, including any script that loads Microedits functionality on your site

If a separate agreement (e.g., a Data Processing Addendum) conflicts with this notice, that agreement controls for the conflicting terms.

Summary

  • We collect account and support information you provide, usage/analytics data, and content you choose to process through Microedits (e.g., page HTML/CSS, screenshots, and edit instructions).
  • We use data to operate, secure, and improve our services; to provide support; and to comply with law. For analytics/advertising cookies, we rely on consent where required.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the CPRA.
  • You control the Customer Content you send to Microedits; we process it to provide the service and do not use it to train generalized models without your permission.

Information we collect

  1. Information you provide
    • Account and profile: name, email, authentication details, organization info.
    • Billing: billing name, email, address; we use a payment processor (e.g., Stripe) and do not store full card numbers.
    • Support and communications: messages, attachments, and metadata.
    • Customer Content: content you choose to process through Microedits, including page HTML/CSS, screenshots for previews, instructions/prompts, region-of-interest coordinates, and resulting modifications.
  2. Information collected automatically
    • Usage and device data: page views, referrer, timestamps, approximate location from IP, browser/OS, device type, and interactions with site/app features.
    • Cookies and similar technologies: identifiers used for session management, security, analytics, and (where used) advertising measurement.
  3. Information from third parties
    • Analytics and advertising partners (e.g., Google tags, Mixpanel, PostHog) provide insight into site usage and campaign performance.
    • If you authenticate or integrate third-party services, we receive data as authorized by you.

How we use information

  • Provide and support the services, including rendering remote previews, generating/editing page modifications, and applying/undoing committed changes.
  • Maintain security, prevent misuse, and debug.
  • Improve and develop features and quality (e.g., aggregate analytics, experiments).
  • Communicate with you (service messages, updates, marketing where permitted).
  • Comply with law, enforce agreements, and protect our rights and users.

Legal bases (EEA/UK where applicable)

  • Contract: to provide the services you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure and improve services, prevent abuse, and understand usage (balanced against your rights).
  • Consent: for non-essential cookies/advertising where required.
  • Legal obligation: to meet regulatory and tax requirements.

Customer Content and AI/automation

  • We process Customer Content solely to provide the services you instruct us to perform (e.g., extract HTML/CSS, generate edit options, take and compare screenshots).
  • We may use vetted sub-processors (including AI/automation vendors).
  • Please avoid sending secrets, credentials, or unnecessary personal data in prompts or uploaded content.

Disclosures and sub-processors

We disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers and sub-processors: hosting, analytics, observability, customer support, email, payment, and (where used) AI vendors.
  • Advertising/measurement partners on our marketing site (e.g., Google Ads tags) where permitted by law/consent.
  • Professional advisors and authorities where legally required.
  • Successors in a merger, acquisition, or sale.

Key tools on our site and services: Mixpanel (analytics), PostHog (analytics), Google tags (ads/measurement), OpenRouter (AI inference routing), and OpenAI (AI content generation). We will maintain a list of material sub-processors upon request.

International transfers

We may transfer data to countries with different data protection laws (e.g., the United States). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Customer Content may be retained to support your projects, version history, and audit, and is deletable by request or per your account settings where available.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use necessary cookies for core functionality and, where permitted, analytics/measurement cookies. You can manage preferences via your browser or device settings; some features may not function without certain cookies.

Do Not Track

We do not respond to Do Not Track signals. We will honor legally required consent preferences (e.g., where a regional consent banner is deployed).

Children

Our services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We may update this notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated via the services or by email.
